Biography

Mark is the Chairman of the Board for Maxi Volt Corporation; an electronics manufacturing company whose sales and services span the globe doing business in dozens of countries on five continents.  He is a third generation entrepreneur, and a serial entrepreneur having formed to date five successful companies.  He has invented and designed dozens of electronic devices used worldwide; holds U.S. Patents, and continues to develop innovative products and expand his IP portfolio.

Professionally, he has also designed electrical earthing systems for numerous companies, including Southwestern Bell, Baptist Hospitals, Enron, Texas Instruments, and CBS; Designed and/or assisted in theory and design of electrical power systems for, but not limited to, the petrochemical, mining, lumber, transportation, utilities, weapons, artificial lift, healthcare, telecommunications, and agriculture industries.  He has provided hundreds of technical training seminars and continuing education classes concerning protection of electrical circuits, and power quality, including numerous Fortune 500 companies, Institutions, and State compliance.

As a volunteer, Mark is presently the Chair for IEEE USA’s Entrepreneurs Innovation Policy Committee (EIPC), Chair of NEMA’s Business Innovation Council (BIC), and a long term Advisory Board member of West Texas A&M University Enterprise Center.  He has helped hundreds of Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs around the globe, and presently he is active in the interface of Small and Medium Technology Enterprises (SMTE) with the Federal Government.

This success can be directly attributed to the practical, common-sense methodology Mark maintains. The means of mentoring and leadership he affords his associates encourages logical, outside-the-box, progressive thinking. Impartiality and equality are heavily practiced; each voice is highly valued and factored into every equation. Trust and teambuilding are also of utmost importance.

Although he attended college, and studied Geology, Phycology, and Physics, Mark has no formal degrees.  He has turned down three honorary PhD’s out of respect to the students of those institutions, however he Claims a PhD from the College of Hard Knocks.  Education comes in many forms; one can learn empirically, in institutions, from books and white papers, and in life experiences.  The most important lesson is to never stop educating one’s self.   He would rather team with visionaries without a degree, than someone possessing an impressive institutional portfolio and laboratory experience with an abhorrent attitude. He states you can’t change a humans DNA, however creative people will learn how to succeed, regardless of their pedigree or diplomas.
